American Audio: Do you need the Versaport? to connect the Rds3000 in conjunction with an external mixer on my laptop? I would also like to play regular Cds and Mp3s while I am not using VDJ on this same external mixer. Could this be possible? Can you please give me feedback on what I need to do to play VDJ music and videos as well as to transition to traditional Cds if needed. Thanks! Respectfully, PLaZ

Followed this video? while setting up today. 3 problems with American Audio Radius 3000: 1.Tempo adjust isn't working on the actual Radius controller while in midi mode with VDJ 2.Scratching with the jog wheel isn't working in midi mode either with VDJ 3.Not getting any sound through my mixer into my headphones while playing, only through the laptop. XLR cables are not connected, however I should be getting sound in the phones

@FurballRZ Your comments make you seem pretty sad. You are an all too common know-it-all with a closed mind around your own preferences. ? Traktor's a good program, along with a lot of other good programs, and if works for you best, then great, use it, it IS a great program..... but 6 months in the business certainly doesn't make you any authority to break out and say "I proclaim only Traktor to be a good Professional DJ program, and all else is junk". Whatever, newbie.

@FurballRZ Gotcha, well I've used both programs and paid for the pro versions on both, I just generally lean more towards VDJ when it comes to using external controllers because from my experience it's more? plug-n-play friendly than Traktor. They're both great programs but this is honestly the same as a Pepsi vs Coke debate - we each have our own opinions and personal preferences :-) I like the more open architecture that VDJ provides with plugin, sampler and controller support.

You do not need the 'command' files as? they are already part of the latest VirtualDJ Install. Also, the 'deselection' of the 'show only connected devices' does not activate the controller. The reason? it does not show in the list at the beginning is because you have to put the device in MIDI mode 'before' you open VirtualDJ - not after. But, still a great video.

@FurballRZ : I see you are a 19 year old PRO. I've only been in the business 20+ years (started before you were born), so I guess that trumps my opinion, huh? LOL I've used both too, and many others, and I use VDJ. Nothing against the other options, just my choice, and the choice of many professionals in the field. I guess I am still a noob after 20 years, and need to? bow to the 19 year old PRO like yourself...ROFL.

@FurballRZ I've used both too and have had better performance with VDJ on my setup, plus there's all of the VJ/KJ options with VDJ that you don't get with Traktor. Think my sets will be fine without the beatmasher effect :-P Great demo showing how to setup the Radius 3000 with? VDJ, think I'm still getting the VMS4 though :-)
